#1 det finns de som skriver på slav-kontrakt också, om man inte har pengar och ändå vill till europa (eller usa) så förbinder man sig att jobba svart i många år… (ni kan ju bara gissa vad en ung tjej åker på för "extra-knäck")

Om det är en svensk medborgare som är smugglaren då? vilket land ska vi välja att förvisa dom till? Jag röstar nog på långt fängelsestraff och böter som är högre än de pengar de kan misstänkas ha tjänat…

Men det finns ju en liten brist vad gäller böter också. Om en dömd påstår att han saknar pengar, så går väl statliga fonder in o betalar böterna (brottsofferfonden o dyl?) (förmodligen så plockar kronofogden en slant ifrån alla kommande "vita inkomster" också)

The first responsable for that happening is the person who has a child without emocional and/or moral conditions to take care. The crime starts there.

There are parents who sell their children in Brasil to this and other crimines, but then many people appear to justify the parents: 'they are miserables', 'they are ignorants' and bla-bla-bla… as if you need money and education to love your children…

If the smuggled person is minors, the parents, the saler and the buyer should be punished with prison and forced work to pay for their suport and for the costs of the crime. Prison should never be a holyday camp for free with some many conforts, it's to learn how much pepper hurts in the eyes since many use to think that pepper in the eyes of others is refreshing.

If the smuggled person is not minors and wasn't forced, that is other discussion because I can tell she always isn't that naive victim as it seems to be.

#5 Att bestraffa ev. föräldrar kan bli extremt svårt att bevisa i rättssak. Det är ju väldigt sällan smugglade barn har identitetspapper.

Och tror du inte att en extremt fattig familj som får "för många" barn (på grund av katolska kyrkans starka inflytande) resonerar ungefär som så: att vi inte har möjlighet att alla överlever på det lilla vi har, och att föräldrarna hellre vill att det barnet ska kunna få en liten chans till ett lite bättre liv på någon annan plats?

Fängelsestraff är inte i första hand till för att göra den dömda brottslingen något ont. En stor del av straffet är ett avskräckande syfte, för alla.

I can tell you for sure, without any doubt or fear of being wrong, that most of poor brazilian parents doesn't mind about their children when it's to get any advantage. If they thought, they even wouldn't have them because there are familiar plannings in the public health care system where they can get anti-contraceptions for free, they get them and don't use, they even get and sell them for getting money for cigarrets and parties.

It's was disclosed by the police in one of the poorest states in Brasil this week, where many people live by contribuition from the State for their children, that the parents are using the contribuition for buying drugs. I have seen similar cases like this  talking to a 11 y.o child who asked money to buy a pen to go to the school, I asked if the mother didn't work and she told me 'no', I asked what her mother used to do for living, she answered 'nothing', ok, I asked what the mother used to do in life, the answer was 'she uses to watch tv, paint the nails, smoke and go to parties', conversation going on, the girl told that she had more 5 youngest children of diferent fathers who the girl had to take care. The mother was only 25 years old!!!

Other family which I got to know: The mother, 46 y.o., 13 children, the oldest daughter was 30 y.o. already with 12 children; a son 28 y.o. with 9 children and so on about others younger with 2 to 5 children. NOBODY worked in the family!!!

Since when to work is a way of punishment??? I just meant that those criminal should have a hard life in prison because they make crimes for getting easy money and they need to learn how much hard others work to live.

Since when is it educational to put criminals in a very hard prison in Brazil? its not going to make them better people or show them how decent people work and make money?

Dont you agree with what i wrote in another thread: Education, Education and more education is the key. To solve many things in poor countries.

I should have explained better.

I agreed that education is the key to poor people in a general way to change and develop the mentality, that doesn't mean I agreed with education to resocialize criminals, it's a prison for punish them for crimes, socialize them with work, according to the age and the crimes, of course. You can't compare a 12 y.o. boy stealling to a 20 y.o. man killing or selling a child.

I'm sorry, but Brasil (and the world) is in a very critical situation, the adult criminals are in prison as a consequence for a conscientious choice and there is no time, resources, strengh to spend with everybody. It's urgently necessary to prioritize who will get support or not and right now at this point I believe the children are the most important for having hope of a better future and the interests of adults must be sicrificed now to break this bad vicious circle.

You can think that the adult criminal is a consequence of a poor child and I tell you it's not because I was very poor, I work since I was 11 y.o., I studied in a very poor school where we sat on the floor, I've been hungry and I NEVER stole, cheated or lied to get any kind of advantage, I made good use honestly of every small chance which was possible while some friends who grew up with me in the same situation and they still are poor and just complaining about life, even saying that they are tired. Tired of what??? They never wanted to make anything for their lives, they never want to work but they always are ready to go to parties and beaches.
